Original acrylic painting of a bunch of Peruvian lilies.

This beautiful painting sets off delicate white lilies against a bright pink background. Soft greens and whites define the flowers, and some of the petals bear the variety’s characteristic stripes. The background pink shows through the petals in places giving the flowers a glow. The leaves and petals are painted in brighter greens, and their strongly defined twists and curves give balance to the painting.

The flowers are commonly known as Peruvian lilies or lily of the Incas, and they have come to stand for friendship and devotion.

The name ‘Alstromeria’ comes from Swedish botanist Baron Von Alstroemer, who brought them from South America to Europe in the late 18th century.

The size is 40 x 30cm painted on stretched canvas. The piece will be sent with the canvas still on the stretcher, ready for display.

Painted with acrylic paints, which deliver beautiful vibrant colours and give a durable finish.

The bright pink of the background extends around all sides of the painting. Because it is finished in this way, there is no need to frame it (unless you want to!) and it can be displayed as-is.
